The Belrose Hotel

Always a reliable local - good food and good service. Not a cheap eat now they have table service , but a good range of food. Sit in the lounge area or outside unless you have small kids - it is very popular with young families as it has a play area.

I had wonderful meals here on 5 different occasions. The staff are so lovely, the food has always been a good quality. I did however, discover that most people don't book and this causes a lot of problems trying to calculate the amount of staff needed. this would cause slow service - I discovered this because I asked- not because a staff member was whinging. We were lucky. The place was packed and they expected a full house due to school holidays. They have an amazing amount of play things for kids- enough high chairs and enough room for families with or without kids. We were thrilled to have a lovely table and our meals were great. Mine was the Fillet Steak and it was "melt in your mouth" tender. My partner had the Barramundi, my friends had the Chicken Schnitzel and also the salmon. Have eaten here before and in the past was good , but tonight it was decisively average , the slow cooked lamb , wasn't slow cooked , needed a steak knife to cut through it , very disappointing
And the salmon was overcooked

First impression of this place is nice, it has a comtemporary open concept, much like a tuck shop with a modern ambience.

The food is good but way overpriced as there's no table service. You'll need to queue up to place an order for everything.

Our dinner for 4 was well over $100!!! I've paid much less for high quality food at a proper restaurant.

This place is too noisy for any conversation if you're there on a busy night.

I'd rather go elsewhere.

The Belrose Hotel has really lovely atmosphere and balances the pub vs family bistro venue exceptionally well. What I appreciate most is that they welcome families but ensure that kids are supervised closely by their parents. They make this clear on their menu, but I was pleasantly surprised to see the staff enforce this gracefully. The venue does get very family friendly at times (which keeps me away - but that's one person compared to a family of business). The meals are always served fast and generally the quality appears to match the price. There are often promotional vouchers around for those of us that remember them. They advertise live music but I have not been there when they've had people playing. There is a reasonable selection of beers but smaller selection of wine.
