We couldn't have a visit to Phillip Island without having fish and chips somewhere so we gave The Big Fish a try and we were certainly not disappointed. The place isn't much to look at…it's located above a Thai restaurant so you have to take some stairs and inhale the mouth watering aromas of Thai food. There's only a couple of chairs and tables inside and out but the place looks clean. Be warned, the menu is very limited...it is just fresh local flake, chips, potato cake, prawn dumplings and dim sims and the fish only comes battered. However, it was sensational! We just had the fish and chips but the fish was in a light batter and wasn't greasy at all. The chips were cooked and seasoned perfectly. A winner! Not cheap, but not expensive either and the service was great. You could take your fish and chips across the road to the beach but you'd have to fight off the seagulls.
