I have been here for years and make a special effort to get there. Quantity & Quality of the fresh fish and chips are value for money. Also has great selection of fresh seafood some of the best outside of the fish markets at Pyrmont. Great value too.

Fish Market @ Maroubra sells both fresh and cooked seafood. The takeaway section has a good range of salad and battered seafood. It also offers over 20 types of meal packs. Personally, I like to purchase my own fish fillet and have it grilled. The cost is $6/kg, which generally works out to be an additional $1. The fish is usually grilled perfectly, and comes with optional garlic and salt seasoning. The homemade crumbed prawn cutlet is the standout of an otherwise average-tasting battered seafood range.

The service is friendly with plenty of staff around during the peak hours. I am always surprised at how well the entire team works together, as I have yet to ended up with the wrong order.

Overall, Fish Market @ Maroubra is an above average local fish and chip shop.

I have bought seafood from here on a regular basis and never have had bad food at anytime. Always fresh and at a reasonable price. If you're in the area, give it a go!
