Have been wanting to give this place a try for dinner and finally done so with a some girlfriends a couple of weeks ago. Upon arrival service seemed promising (compared to some reviews my friend read online), though as soon as we were seated at our table we thought otherwise. We had asked for the specials and table water by one waiter but he never came back with it. We finally then decide to flag down another waiter and he attended to us straight away, service from then on again was good. As for our meals, both entrees and mains were delicious. We were too full from it all that we decided to skip dessert (sad face), but that's a reason to come back again next time to try.
For our regular Friday breakfast we decided to try The Marquis. The breakfast menu had enough on it so that we had to have an order discussion but finally decided on the croque monsieur and the eggs and bacon with a shared side of asparagus (I thought the shared sides were a good idea for breakfast - this is the first place I've seen that). The food was fine - the croque was very tasty and the bacon was of good quality with very little fat (which is a rare feat) - a generous serve and the scrambled eggs were cooked well. The asparagus side was a bit of a let down - slightly overcooked and they were a bit stingy on the brioche crumbs.The service was ok. We were unsure whether it was table service or whether we had to order at the register - no mention was made when we grabbed some menus on the way in.
