This really wasn’t one of those pubs that really inspired me all that much. Then again, maybe it was because it was getting late, but then again I was looking for a place to grab a beer before I headed home, and this place seemed to be quite convenient. Okay, they did have some nice beers available, and the staff were okay, but that might have had something to do with it being near closing time. In the end, it’s not really a place that I’m going to be hurrying back to anytime soon.
The National does a great happy hour from 5-6pm every day, even on weekends (40% off) and is definitely the cheapest pub in Fremantle during this time with a wide variety of taps. From the balcony on the second floor gives you a great view of the cappuccino strip, the town hall clock and the cruise ships when they're in the port, a great spot to watch the sunset on a summers afternoon.
