The Retro Bar

I note that the user review by "little1" is over 4 years old, and within that time the original owners have moved on and the venue is under new management.

I went to the Retro Bar last week (July 2016) for the first time, and the new owner - who is an avid music fan - has transformed this bar into a great live music venue, at the same time retaining an intimate bar atmosphere.

The place is warm and inviting, the staff are professional and friendly, and the food was apparently fresh and tasty. Probably the main focus of the bar is live music, and the place is set up professionally to support music of all types. The night I was there, the hushed crowd were treated to three local musicians playing acoustic guitar tunes - the quiet attentiveness of the crowd a rarity in most venues.

If you are wanting an intimate live music venue where you can relax, have a drink and some good food, then I would certainly recommend the Retro Bar.

I booked a party at the Retro Bar Kenmore after ,many lengthly discussions with the owners. The management's market and sell the business to you very well, however when you arrive it is completly different to what is discussed:1. there is no dance floor2. the music is played through a small system, 3. The food sizes are small and overpriced. $15.00 for a pizza that is 10cm in size!!!!!!! 4. The bar staff ask if you belong to "party name" and take it on face value, I over heard 4 people say they were part of my birthday and were getting drinks on my tab....lucky I was there to stop this!!!!!! 5. We had an area of 3 tables booked for use for 30 people, other guests just came and sat at these tables and ate the over priced food I had paid for. I asked them to move on as they were not with my guests and complained. 6. The bar staff will not serve you after 5 drinks!!!!!!!!7.
