The Rye Pier

Coffee made of water not milk it seemed and very overpriced. Lovely location.

5 of us went to eat this morning at 11:35 am and were told that the breakfast menu had just finished and lunch menu did not start until 12:15pm! We wanted to eat lunch and were told we were only allowed to have coffee and cake until 12:15pm. The waitress also proceeded to let us know that if we wanted to eat there was a cafe down the road. My husband and I are restaurant owners (my husband being the chef) and never would we turn away 5 paying customers for a lousy half hour! Which restaurant doesn't serve any meals for 45 minutes! Also considering the area and the fact that it is tourist season, so should be busy, I'll never step foot in there again!!

Had a lovely meal there tonight, food was fantastic, service was excellent, overall it was an amazing meal and would Definately go back and recommend to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I recently took over seas visitors to Rye and went to the Pier for lunch, it was very quiet. Went to order lunch, asked if my order came with chips, the staff did not know so had to go and ask, came back to say yes it did. When my meal arrived without chips I just asked if I was getting chips as advised by the person that took my order and the staff who gave my order said no it does not come with fries. I advised him that the staff who took my order told me it did which I was accused of making it up. If I had known I would have ordered a side dish. He asked if I wanted fries and I asked would they be long as my other dish would be cold and he replied " There only fries" very smart tone. One of my friends had to ask for her drink three times before getting the drink. Things got worse when I went to pay for lunch and was told my attitude was very bad!!!!!. It turned out that the staff I was dealing with was the manager. Will not recommend to anyone.

Just had breakfast at The Pier. My son had the pancakes, my wife the light start (cottage cheese avocado and tomato on toast) and I had the brekky pizza; all delicious. Staff were pleasant and it's such a nice setting with the water close by when the sun is shining. We will be coming back, that pizza was terrific.
