Tripod Cafe

Finally made it back for breakfast and YUMMO I am glad I did. Fought the brunching Darlington crowds on a Saturday to squeeze into a table with a breeze and ploughed into the same dish as almost every table around me - a deliicious potato rosti dish with poached eggs, avo (duh), salmon and more. Also coffee, of course, and Tripod's brews sure don't disappoint. The hardest part? Trying to resist the delectable waft of freshly baked muffins teasing your senses at the counter when you're trying to pay!

Brekky classic Tripod is now open for dinner and we love it! The staff are super friendly, the mood is warm and cozy, the food is hearty, thoughtful and delicious, the wine list at an approachable price point in this student-filled district. We will be back.

Love the food, love the people, love the energy of this dynamic cafe. Worth a visit!

James, the barista at Tripod, makes the best cup of coffee in Chippendale. You can find him there most mornings.



If Julie, a co-owner, is cooking whatever you get will be brilliant.



Watch out for little dynamo Linda, the other co-owner. She sings along with whatever song is playing - which is kinda nice. Her voice is pretty good.



The chicken ceasar salad is my favourite dish here. Always freshly chopped and freshly mixed ingredients and the chicken is moist and tasty - with delicious home made dressing.

If everything else is shut, you can count on Tripod being open. Good place for coffee but the breakie is average. The staff however are great and so is the atmosphere.
