Fast service, great flavorful food. The seating is long bench-trestle tables, shared between various groups, which makes for an interesting casual dining option. The service is at that level (casual dining) but I've always found the staff to be friendly and helpful (when you can get their attention). Try the pork-belly udon-noodle soup, its delicious!
Three words: ginger chicken udon. Do it. It's delicious. I've probably eaten here a dozen or so times, and I always order the same thing. There are a few comments below that the service isn't great, but I honestly haven't noticed. Sometimes they're busy and it can take a little longer to order, but the food always arrives fresh, hot and tastes fantastic. They have a fun ordering system and a fun atmosphere. I've been here for birthday dinners with friends, casual business lunches, and for weekend eats with my Mum. My friends rave about the salmon and the teriyaki beef too, but it's ginger chicken udon all the way for me.
Went for dinner last night, one wait staff tipped a full bottle of wine and ice bucket on me, wrecked my dress ($90), shoes ($120), scarf ($35) and handbag ($80). Went to clean up in the bathroom, came back to table and no apology or offer to rectify situation at the beginning of the night!!! Instead they avoided us and never came back to our table. It is almost as if the wait staff is trained to be rude, impatient and just downright horrible. We went to pay the bill and again no offer of a discount or even an apology, when I asked they offered to take of an entree - $10 ARE YOU SERIOUS, this place is an absolute JOKE!!
Maybe we hit a bad day? A casual late Sunday lunch with ten friends - they definitely weren't busy, but the three floor staff couldn't give a rats about service let alone a smile!
When we finally had someone come over to us, we asked do we order drinks here with you, or up at the bar. "It's table service" she said... and walked off! We could have had 2-3 extra rounds of drinks for the afternoon, but they couldn't be bothered coming over, serving us etc. What a chance to upsell your bottom line, but they looked like we told them we were holding kittens for ransom.
Food was fine (albeit a tad overpriced for what you get, but was reasonably quick to come out once they eventually took our order); drinks were fine (when we got them); but the sourpuss service was absolutely shocking! You'd starve, if you had to work for tips!!
Won't be going there again.
