Zonzo

We ended our day of winery tours at Zonzo for dinner. The venue is really nice, plenty of parking and both indoor and outdoor seating. It’ll make a great place for a wedding or engagement party. We had the pizza to share amongst all of us, which I highly recommend. The wood fire pizza are a must! They also do wine tasting too, but we were all wined out by then.

Located a few minutes drive from Yarra Glen, Zonzo is a spacious restaurant with large communal tables and decorated in a modern rustic style. There's an open fireplace and lovely views from the large windows facing the vineyard. The service was prompt, efficient, polite and all with a smile. A high chair was available for our little one and it was nice to also get a plastic plate & cup for him as well as the offer of heating up the baby food we brought along. We were here for lunch and we had a pizza alla salsiccia and slow cooked beef cheeks with red wine, red capsicum, mushrooms and polenta. The pizza was simple but authentic with quality ingredients and the beef cheeks were so very tender and tasted lovely on a cold day. Granted it wasn't cheap but not ridiculously expensive either. I can imagine that the place might be a rather noisy on a busy day as when we were there it was less than half full and was a bit noisy.
