Brisbane Street Art Festival

It’s time for an art attack! But we’re not just talking about plain old run-of-the-mill galleries and exhibitions. Rather, this February, the Brisbane Street Art Festival is taking art to the streets in a brand new festival project that aims to celebrate Brisbane’s vibrant and uniquely independent arts culture. Over one week, the festival will host over 15 large-scale murals in Fortitude Valley and the surrounding inner city area. Carnaval Parade & Party

Lindo maravilhoso! It’s one of the biggest festivals in the world, and it’s coming to your doorstep right here in beautiful Brisbane. Get your dancing shoes on and take to the streets this February to celebrate Brazilian Carnaval – a festival of rhythm, dance, music and colour. Dance your way through markets, food stalls, musical performances and FREE dance classes at the Boundary Street Markets to fuel up before the main event, when over 150 colourful performers will take over Boundary Street for a giant Brazilian-themed party. This February, legendary Swedish acoustic singer-songwriter José González is coming to the Tivoli with his band for a very special show. Bring along the family, significant other (or significant other-to-be) and prepare to be wooed by the soothing sounds of González’s divine voice and classical guitar. He’ll be playing his newest hits from his latest Top 40 album ‘Vestiges and Claws’, as well as favourites from all three of his beautiful acoustic albums, including the worldwide hit ‘Heartbeats’. World Theatre Festival

Location: Brisbane Powerhouse
Lift the curtain and take a trip through the theatres of the world without leaving the city as Brisbane Powerhouse plays host to performers from nine countries for ten days of some of the best theatre the world has to offer. But these aren’t any ordinary theatre performances. Performers this year will include performances troupes from the UK, USA, Korea, Belgium, New Zealand, Cambodia, Taiwan, Indonesia and, of course, local artists.
