Burleigh Town Tavern

Okay, I’m in two minds about this place because I asked one of the bartenders is she could call me a cab, and proceeded to point me to a telephone. However, I wandered around to another part of the bar, and it turned out that she was much more helpful, and even gave me an estimated time at which the cab would arrive. As for the pub, well it wasn’t too bad, not really much in the way of beers, but probably more a suburban feel about it.

Have been going told Old Burleigh Town Tavern for the last 18 years as I bought a house just up the road in 1999 so in my eyes I am a local to this Pub. Tonight I would have to say was one of my most worst nights. Our meals cost just over $100 for two adults and two kids including entrees and my steak was suppose to be medium rare and turned out more like well done could not get any staff members attention so gave up as it was edible but not enjoyable then my wife asked for a container to take the Pizza home as she could not finish the meal, the waitress ( no names as she is only doing what her boss has asked her to do ) wanted further money for the polystyrene container and when we both said never has this been asked of us before, she started to argue about the situation, she got cranky and said this is what her boss has said, so I asked to see the person in charge and she got got quite irate and put ( threw) it on the table and just walked off and no person in ...read more

Wow!!
We weren't too hungry so we ordered a share plate and a brushetta.
Our first impression was when the drinks arrived. The colours of the lemon lime and bitters were layered. As were the subtle colours of the soda and lime. Both had the perfect mix of flavour.
Then came the meal. Very quickly too. The brushetta was amazing. Best I have ever had.
The tasty morsels on the share plate were incredible. The calamari was so tender, the prawns were crunchy and tasted great abd the fish cakes were perfect. The sauces with both were lovely.
Yep. We'll be back.
Aparently they do functions and specialise in kids parties.
Loads of parking.
Heaps of comfortable seating.
Staff are very friendly.

this would have to be the worst food experience ever! 6 adults and we all felt totally unimpressed. Just for example a $18 Nasi Goreng consisted of a handfull of rice and a fried egg on top with some pickled veggies. A seniors beef pie had one minute piece of beef and the rest apart from some mushrooms was gravy ... i could go on but feel its not worth the effort.
On the plus side the staff were friendly and kids playground was OK

We used to go here once a month on a week night as they always had specials like kids eat free or buy one get one free and regular meal prices were quite reasonable. They have put their prices up quite a bit though now so we don't go very often at all as the food isn't worth the money they are now charging. Don't get me wrong, the meals are always nice and service is great and with the kids room, it's great for a family meal if you are having a night out to celebrate something
