Cafe La Mer

A local delight. The perfect setting under the big moreton bay fig and right on the water for a family brunch or Sunday breakfast. It can get super busy on Mothers day though as we found out after not booking in a few years back, so definitely plan ahead

This is one of my favourite cafes and luckily, it's quite close to me! There's so much I love about the place. Starting from the gorgeous deck that overlooks the marina and the magnificent ficus tree in the centre of it that shelters everyone. Even though its right on the marina, you don't get any awful fishy smell wafting over. There is always a lovely breeze that comes through and you can see lots of fish in the water and watch all the boats sailing past. It can get quite chilly even in Summer because of the breeze but the cafe even provides beautiful warm fleece blankets for all the guests. Such a lovely thoughtful gesture! The menu is simply outstanding! Such a terrific blend of flavours and everything is prepared so well always. The coffee and drinks are delicious as well! I love this place! I have breakfast here regularly. It has a great view of the bay. On the weekend it's a good idea to book a table and ask for one on the water. But we usually forget and they always find us a table relatively quickly. Food is good. Harissa eggs are my favourite, I get them every time now :). Staff are always lovely.
