We've been grabbing takeaway orders from Chui Yuan for several years, and it's always been tasty and delicious! Love the crispy steak, and the satay vegetables with prawns -- a generous portion of prawns unlike some options elsewhere. We've probably been here a 15 to 20 times, ordering 4 to 5 mains each time, and will happily keep returning. The music for in-restaurant dining seems a tad dodgy, at least in the waiting area, but don't let the old-style feel fool you -- the food for us has always been excellent.
I used to visit regularly when it was owned by a different management and would take an hour round trip just to visit. I went here today and order 2 chicken curry with rice, less chicken and extra sauce (this is because i'm not too keen on boiled chicken but love the sauce and rice). When i got my order there was barely any sauce and heaps of chicken so I told the staff i thought they had got mixed up and made it the other way around. Staff answered very rudely that there was extra sauce and snapped that was what staff had wrote on the order. I told staff they were being rude and it was just my observation that there appeared to be hardly any sauce when i had asked for extra. This was answered with more rudeness to which led a bit of an enlargement.
When i got home and took the chicken out i found i was right after all and honestly there was the smallest amount of sauce i have ever seen.
I will never visit here again...........rude staff and a turn off!
