Dumplings Plus
I was here only a month ago and we were in the centre again as had to drop off the car for a service nearby. Uncertain why we had returned here again, must be one of those things that you know what you’re ordering and know what you’re up for. I went to order and the young boy serving took my order as ‘what do you want?’ I said to him ‘do you mean, what would I like’, he then had a little laugh and said oh sorry, yes you’re right! Interesting way to start out our order, it’s not fine dine it’s a restaurant based in a food court but general manners would be acceptable everywhere regardless of where or type of restaurant. Food ok, nothing special and nothing we didn’t already know what we were up for.
I was here just last weekend, Dumpling Plus is no stranger to myself as I have eaten extensively at the city location and the highpoint shopping centre location. It was the first time at Chadstone Shopping centre, much smaller than the highpoint location. There isn’t a lot of seating options available for such a large centre, a few large long communal tables. Service is always fast and prompt which his consistent. We ordered the shanghai pork dumpling, pancake, pan fried pork dumpling and Sichuan style noodle soup with minced pork and chilli sauce. The dumpling were readily available, which I wasn’t impressed I found them to be cold and hard so it was obvious it had been fried for quite some time. The pancake wasn’t great, bland if anything. The only dish which I found to be quite nice was the Sichuan noodle. There was quite a lot of customers, we were all crammed up, which isn’t nice and comfortable.
