This Restaurant is now called Casa Mia. It must be under new management as the current owners could not be more amiable and being Italian "child friendly" The food is very acceptable but the ambiance is a bit cold even stark typical Italian cafe more suitable for Summer. I hope they do well as I intend to visit regularly. However the negative reviewer gave herself away with the 1/2 star and why did she let the child play with the chair? Chairs are not for playing with .Ask any teacher.

Emdelus is a fantastic child friendly caf with great cakes and food. Our mothers group love it and we are always made to feel welcome with tables moved for us and an areas set up for our prams etc. Also our children are able to have fun and relax but obviously not allowed by us to run amok. Sad to see people try and blame a lovely place for a childs bad behaviour. Only negative for Emdelus is they will need to increase their high chairs as our children get bigger and bigger and grow up loving Emdelus!!! We will be there again this week for our mothers group.

My mothers group have been loyal patrons of Emdelus on a weekly basis for around 8mths.It has nice coffee & food, friendly staff and very child friendly. As of today we won't be back. Emdelus has little plastic chairs for kids. Our kids have been playing with these since we first started going here with no objections from staff. Today a staff member I've never seen before was clearly bothered by this as she took the chair one of our 18mth old tots was playing with and told him off. She didn't approach us to say she had a problem with him doing something he has been doing for around 8mths. The second time she removed all of the chairs and packed them away muttering about her floors being scratched (none we could see) once again she didn't approach us. We were so offended by her behaviour we finished up quickly and left and we'll be finding another venue to meet for coffee. Don't take your kids here unless they're prepared to sit in a corner and not move.

I was a witness this day. They got something to eat and drink and sat down on the lovely lounges in the corner and just ignored the children. One child dragged/scraped one of the plastic chairs up and down the cafe from one end to the other non stop with the noise deafening and the scraping on the floor getting more and more. Both just ignored the child and the staff asked nicely if they could stop doing that as was worried about the floor and the chair breaking and the child being hurt. They did nothing and let the child continue. Later the staff asked again very politely if that could stop. Again no action. Again the staff (don't know how stayed nice) but said she would take the chair so the child would not be able to get hurt by breaking the chair and also worrying about the cafe floor.
