This is a comfortable spacious cinema with a good vibe. You can take a coffee or glass of wine into the cinema, which is a nice touch if you're going after work. I thoroughly enjoyed our evening there and look forward to the next time. Membership gives discounted tickets which is worthwhile if you go often.
This is one of my favourite cinemas in Melbourne, namely because they show a number of stage productions for the National Theatre Company of Britain. They have even shown a couple of productions from the Globe Theatre, which I went with eager anticipation (including Christopher Marlowe's Dr Faustus which I ended up arriving an hour late to when I was in London, so I did manage to see the full production). Anyway this is your classic art house theatre none of those standard Hoyts movies here (though they will show the occasional one). While I don't really have the time to see a huge number of art-house productions, I do know that I can see some pretty good Theatre here, and in fact I have seen some awesome performances, including a Bernard Shaw play. I know this is a place that I will certainly be gracing again.
Most everyone knows what a trip to the cinema is all about - and therefore what to expect. Not so, when talking about Brighton Bay's Palace Cinema! If the mainstream major shopping centre movie theatre outing has become a little mundane for you, (and nearly all of us get to that point sometimes), then Palace Cinema offers something a little different. Whilst it still screens many of the main stream films running at any given time (although carefully selected to maintain an art house cinema feel), 'Palace' does away with the commercial feel, and instead focuses on providing viewers with a more unique experience. More reminiscent of a yesteryear, but with all the spectacular technology of today at their fingertips, any customer of 'Palace' really gets the best of both worlds.
