Overall disappointing. food took a long time and when it did, my grandmother's was replaced quickly however she did not enjoy it. The other meals were nice but overpriced. It would have been appreciated if the faulty meal was not charged as we have decided not to visit or recommend again.
Much better service when they are not busy!!!! (ie. less than 10 in the restaurant) Took a group of 10 on an Sat morning for breakfast, had to wait 40+mins for our food to arrive, so incredibly slow. Each time that we asked for something more/different we felt like we were being a hassle.
Have started looking at other venues for dining occasions.
Twice before, quite enjoyable. Third time unlucky - very very poor service, we were repeatedly left waiting too long in-between food and drinks and even had to wait 20mins before we went up and asked for the change from our bill. We were seated outside but the sun was in our faces and there were a couple of empty tables near by, we asked three separate staff if we could move tables, all said they would go and check, none ever returned with an answer. We were made to feel like we were a burden to the staff.
The food was ok, unfortunately they'd named the roast capsicum wrap a Roast Vegie Wrap - implying it might contain more than just pesto and capsicum.
The food could not get any better! The quality and favour is superb. This is my favourite place to eat and to sit out on the deck and look over the dam with the ducks is just the best setting. Even if you are just driving past and call in for a coffee and some cake or Devonshire tea and scone. The staff are always so friendly and I always take my friends for a special treat.
Attached to a charming Nursery/ Gift Shop and adorned with a semi rural setting, Rivers Cafe has long been a local favourite.
Just minutes drive from Melbourne's northern fringe, when entering the scene at River's, it seems you've entered a painting! The Cafe offers the finest in superior cafe-style dining, but one can't go past the tea & scones! Highly Recommended
