Stamford Grand North Ryde

We went Stamford North Ryde Captain Cook's Cove for Sunday Lunch last sunday, we was so disappointed with the food. if this was called buffet lunch, the varies was so limited



It was not worth it.



Anyway, we will not come back anymore.

I came here for high tea (afternoon tea) with a group of girls for a hens party, and it looked like a few other groups had similar plans.

They ruined an important day for me - my family booked there for a high tea to celebrate my graduation from university that day. While the food was lovely, the staff made the visit very unpleasant. The staff, gave us dirty looks every time they passed our table (we were the only ones there). We were left without spoons so I had to go searching for them, then a cleaner started vaccuming right near our table. Some people in our party had not turned up and of course we agreed to pay for them - that's fair enough. However, as a result there was a bit of food left over and I asked to take it with us - I was told in no uncertain terms "we're not a take-away you know". I can't think of any restaurant that hasn't given me a doggy bag when I've asked in the many years we have been dining out, so this came as a bit of a surprise. Great hotel for weekend stays. We quite often get a good deal on wotif that includes accommodation and breakfast. Lovely restaurant. Staff child friendly.

Captain Cook is now the name of the nicely renovated restaurant at the Stamford Grand North Ryde (I believe it was previously called Parrots Brasserie). The ambience is warm and modern, and the menu has a nice selection of food ranging from prawn pasta to steaks (from Wagga Wagga) to Seafood Pie which is a specialty and highlighted in a box on the menu.
We were warmly greeted by the front hostess of the restaurant which is situation in the main area of the hotel next to the lobby. The decor is clean and simple but perfect for a gathering of friends of family. We came on a Sunday night and it wasn't very busy.
