Sun Cafe

have been craving chocolate cake for a while now and decided to get a slice from this place. took it home and as soon as i put it in my mouth and bit down, i instantly ran to get a tissue to spit it out onto. it was like it was made with plasticene and hand cream or some other cosmetic, there was no chocolate flavour at all just this unpleasant nasty taste that i have never tasted before.

Half the menu is made up of baguettes with a variety of fillings. The beef/ horseradish combo is quite nice. The prices are fine, there is a lot of outdoor seating with solid wooden tables and of course, it's a nice sunny spot!

Really lovely cafe on busy corner in North Bondi. Come for a sunny brunch, or a relaxed coffee. I wouldn't come on a rainy day as the indoor seating feels cramped and lacks ambiance. Order at the counter (cash only!) and grab a spot outside.

Lacks the overly trendy, hipster vibe that a lot of places in Bondi have, which is a plus in my book.

Like the person below, when I was here our table was overcharged (by quite a bit), and when we queried it, we were given a pen and told to figure it out ourselves, with no apology or help offered. In the end we got it sorted and thankfully they didn't try to argue with us, but it was still an unpleasant end to a relaxed breakfast. And the casual, blase way the guy behind the counter dealt with it made us think he wasn't all that surprised, and in fact, that it might happen quite often. Besides that the cafe is in a really lovely, sunny spot, and the food was good and well priced, though we felt that the service let the place down from start to finish the guy who took our orders (a different one) was quite abrupt and abrasive too. It could've just been a bad day but nevertheless, it's not somewhere Ill be rushing back to again.

I have been to the sun cafe twice, both times the bill was added up worng and they overcharged me.



The second time the girl had the hide to argue with me. I am not to sure why this place gets busy.



Im assuming its because its very cheap, however so is the food
