The Bean King

There is a new barista in charge of Bean King. I am pleased to find the previous high standard of service and coffee maintained, with the added bonus of music! Keep up the good work.

I have finally found great coffee and free wifi together in Maroubra Junction! Well, sort of. The Bean King is a mobile coffee cart with a permanent fixture on the ground floor of Bowen Library. In addition to hot drinks, it sells cold drinks, sandwiches, Byron Bay cookies and gourmet muffins. The barista is super-friendly and makes great coffee. There are several tables and even couches for seating. A power-point is also available. Free wifi (limit 4 hours) provided by the library is accessible on the ground floor. This place may not have the nice ambience of a true cafe, but it definitely has the basic essentials.
