The Corner Cafe On Woodland

The look of this venue did not excite me one bit. It was clean and such but nothing stand out in aesthetic terms. However, the staff were nice and the food was delightful. Coffee - my biggest bug bear - was great. Thank you. Food wise we shared the Avo Smash and the Big Breakfast - well priced and sotasty. Yeah, I might well go again. Soon.

VERY VERY slow/bad service. Should also try smiling even though not much to smile about. My husband made a genuine complaint about getting his coffee 1/2 hour after they gave him his cake (usually most people like to drink the coffee whilst eating their cake) and another member of our party also complained about ordering her coffee twice and not getting it at all!!! She (the waitress) just looked at him and walked away. Did not even bother to address the complaints. Then let's not get started with having to wait /2 hour to get menus and 3/4 of an hour to get our meals. Who wants to spend their whole day Sunday in a cafe???? We did practically!!!!

Best coffee ever! Even the decaf is fantastic. It's great to find a local cafe with great coffee and interesting and delicious alternatives to the usual cafe fare of focaccia and cake. Choices for breakfast are amazing offering a little edginess to the humdrum of weekend eggs and bacon. The veggie stack is to die for - the combo of dukkah and feta with breakie was something I would never have tried before. I am so glad I have now. I will continue to recommend this cafe to all of my friends - friendly staff who are not intrusive and a culture that continually tries to improve the customer's experience. Rhonda, the owner is very relaxed and it shows in the happy, helpful staff. Only trouble is during the busiest times it can be a little noisy - then again, this also creates a buzz and an energy that is a nice change from the usual Essendon fare! Yum.

Thoroughly enjoy coming to this cafe. Friendly without getting in the way of a personal experience. They re always working at making things a little different. Try the Woodland Stack with a coffee. Or the Steak sandwich with a beer (maybe not for breakfast). Had a gluten free orange and pistachio cake(very nice). Look forward to my next visit to the corner cafe.
