I don't know why it took me so long to actually go an check this place out, especially since it is one of those coffee shops that I knew that I would really like. Sure enough, when I was down in Preston one afternoon I decided to stop putting it off and came in here to have a coffee. Well, not surprisingly, I really liked the atmosphere of this place. In fact the cafe is actually quite large, with an outdoor area, and a smaller lounge area, as well as a place where there are some quite large tables. There were a reasonable selection of cakes, and the coffee wasn't bad either. In fact after sitting here drinking a coffee and reading my book I decided that I am going to have to make the effort to come down here more often. I probably should also mention that it is a gallery, though I didn't spend a huge amount of time looking at the art.

As a local I used to go here often. The atmosphere is fantastic, but the food isn't worth what they charge. I now prefer to go to Ditzy Danni's at the Preston Market or Shelley's which is on the left side of High St, closer to Bell St

This is a very special venue, hosting an enormous range of people from the business community, local police, centrelink staff, library staff, all alongside a bevy of mums, often with 2-3 kids at foot. The old and somewhat battered furniture allows mums to relax because if their kids spill a bit of food, it won't matter! Good mix of traditional cafe food, some hot some cold dishes and proprietor John insists on good coffee. The daily papers can usually be untangled from somewhere, and a few well thumbed copies of womens mags are also available. Licensed to provide drink at all price ranges, this venue hums at lunch times, when 2 deep at the order point is the rule. Works for sale by local artists adorns the walls and he hosts concerts, bands, live acts etc. One of Preston's jewels, may it resist pressures to change.
