soup of day was chicken, barley and vegetable which I love but when arrived at 12 noon had run out and minestrone with bacon had replaced it so we had a bruschetta special with goats cheese, roasted tomatoes and a poached egg and shasouka eggs off regular menu which were both great, we shared the thai beef salad again as its always great. chai tea lattes are made with real chai leaves not powder, always busy on w/e as food great and prices fairly reasonable and friendly service
Ormond does brilliant winter soups (healthy, hearty and not your usual run of the mill such as $10 tomato, Capsicum and black quinoa soup which was great and colourful. the $18 lamb salad with p/fetta, braised lentels, greens ,tziaki, roast potato on specials board was also great and thai beef salad with crispy noodles on regular menu is always good with, cashews, greens and balsamic glaze $18.
love their tomato and parmesan soup when its on the special board (tomato soup often gets a bit too much half way through due to over powering tomato taste but this one is thin and has lots of texture so its delicous and easy to eat at least a bowl full. tuna melt on specials board was also nice (avacado, corn, capsicum and melted cheese) and the thai beef salad as always on regular menu is brilliant. also had a pumpkin and chick pea salad on specials board today which sounded nice and pulled pork and pulled beef rolls sound good too
always love the lunches here and so much to chose from. today we had thai beef fillet salad again (crispy noodles, cashews, snow pea sprouts, asian greens and herbs) $16 (so tasty, beef moist, healthy and sizeable). also had chickpea curry and the zucchini and corn fritters (s/cream, tomato, bacon and avocado) and the brown lental and vegie soup which were all brilliant. 4 areas to chose from to sit (outside and inside) and staff always welcoming. if only we lived a little closer
