UPDATE: I'm downgrading my review from a 5 to a 2.5 star review. Everything I stated originally is still valid (except for the gladly using them again part), but after I was told by the plumber to "contact Council" about the matter as the problem was on Council land, I was informed by City Water and Waste that I would not be reimbursed, because I did not meet the eligibility requirements as per their website. What eligibility criteria you ask? The plumber in attendance is supposed to report the blockage to the City on the same day the blockage is discovered. The plumber is the one who is meant to lodge for reimbursement, not me. It took a lot of arguing with Council to eventually reimburse me, but I was nearly stuck paying full price for a substantial bill, because these people didn't do the right thing. I placed a service call to The Plumbing Doctor on Monday 6/8/16 and discussed my hot water issue with a person who I believe to be one of the Directors. We agreed that the most likely problem was a failed temperature valve and I booked for a technician to come to my home at 7am Wednesday 8/6/16.
When the technician arrived he inspected the hot water system and confirmed that it was a temperature valve that needed replacing but told me he didn't have one with him and would have to go away to obtain a new valve. At completion of the job the technician informed me the cost was $314.33, I questioned him as to whether I was to be charged for the time it took for him to get the new valve and he called the office to confirm that I was in fact to pay for that ...read more
I called them 7:30 on Monday morning and asked to locate and repair a pipe burst. It wasn't fixed until Saturday lunch time. They had trouble finding the leak and each time leak locator and plumber attended I got charged. Their excuse was they were simply too busy and could not do anything but leaving my backyard flooded. They even tried to leave it until next Monday because they didn't want plumbers to work on Saturday.
