We were there last week and the food was great. The calamari were amongst the best we have enjoyed in Australia. As to the rest of the food, no complaints. Prices were reasonable given how far the area is from Melb but avoid prawns unless you are wealthy. Negative note - the venue is small and was thus consisently crowded
This place was the biggest disappointment. My friend and I stopped here for lunch while doing a drive along the Great Ocean Road in hope of a selection of fresh seafood. The lady working at the counter was possibly the rudest shop attendant I have ever come accross, she made us feel as though we were putting her out by going in to order food. The food is way over priced, one piece of salmon was $8 which was reasonable but a side salad was also $8 and was just a little scoop on the side of the plate. The batter was way too thick taking away the taste of the seafood. The shop has so much potential being located in a great position in the heart of Apollo Bay but at the moment that is the only thing it has going for it.
It may B expensive, but it's a tourist town like every other along the Great Ocean Road. Their menu is relatively healthy for a 'fry up' place & it's the cleanest fish & chip shop I've ever seen. The fish is fresh & either grilled or fried, tastes gr8. Just remember to ask for no salt as they tend to put to much on
If you like to pay $5 for a tiny piece of flake and another $5 for a 1.25 litre bottle of Coca-Cola then this is the place for you. The food might've tasted alright but I couldn't get the foul taste of being ripped off out of my mouth so I wouldn't know. Avoid this place if you like value for your hard-earned dollar.
